"A corazón abierto" is a Mexican telenovela produced by Juan Davis Burns and Elisa Salinas for TV Azteca. It's an adaptation of the American drama series 'Grey's Anatomy' and it aired from November 9, 2011 to May 25, 2012 on Azteca Trece. The main stars are Sergio Basañez, Iliana Fox, Rodrigo Abed and Leonardo García.

- Edith González and Adriana Louvier were the first actresses attached to this project. Both later were cast in other Azteca's telenovelas; Louvier in its predecessor 'Emperatriz' and González in 'Cielo rojo'. However, González guest starred in the role of Andrea in the telenovela's 125'th episode.
- 'A corazón abierto' had two seasons. The first one had 80 episodes and the second one 64.
- Fabiana Perzabal and Alejandro Lukini left the show at the end of season 1. New characters were introduced at the beginning of the second season, played by actors Luis Arrieta, Lia Ferre, Maria Alejandra Molina, Giovanna Romo and Germán Girotti.
- The show mostly covers the first three seasons of the original series.
- After 8 years of absence, actress Angélica Aragón returned to the telenovela genre. Her last role prior to this show was Azteca's 'Mirada de mujer: El regreso'.
- The first season of the show was filmed in Colombia from February to October 2011 and the second one in Mexico. Filming of the second season ended in April 2012.
- There were talks for the third season of the show, however the idea was later scrapped.
